Front Office Manager

The Renaissance Amsterdam Schiphol Airport Hotel, part of International Hotel Capital Partners (IHCP) is looking for you as a Front Office Manager!

What are my responsibilities?
In this role you will  report to the Operational Manager. You will coach and train the team daily. You will lead the team by example and ensure that the shifts for the Front Office and Duty Manager team run smoothly.


  • manage and train the Front Office team (Ambassadors)  by coordinating the activities of the front desk, duty management, guest services, and telephone areas.
  • prepare monthly reports and budget for front office department.
  • monitor and handle guest complaints, and create pro-active planning to increase guest satisfaction scores.
  • show analytical skills in checking reservations and pre-blocking rooms to ensures that all guest expectations are exceeded upon arrival, this in cooperation with our reservation specialist.
  • plan, develop and implement departmental goals.
  • co-ordinate and evaluate the department’s financial performance
  • create an exciting and motivating work environment with strong commitment within the team
  • monitor team performance to ensure consistent compliance on all Brand Standards
  • ensure the front desk provides a professional and friendly service for guests.
  • arrange staff scheduling.
  • develop your team members in preparation for a next step or development of their personal skills.
  • manage financial transactions perfectly *

* Compliance with terms/deadlines (calls, reminders, suppliers, etc.).
• indication of improvement opportunities in the operational processes and administrative processing systems based on changing performance, information needs of management, etc.;
• assessing trends in revenue/purchase and/or payment behavior/conditions per customer/supplier making proposals with regard to (adjustment) payment conditions, concluded with termination/proposals to the relevant department/company;

Wat wij vragen

  • live Life to Discover and have a passion for Hospitality
  • can communicate fluently in English and preferably Dutch.
  • have a relevant degree in hospitality management.
  • have a minimum of 2 years work experience in a similar role in a hotel.
  • or minimum three years front desk experience as an Assistant Front Office Manager
  • have an operational mind-set yet a creative mind, who drives innovative ideas to increase revenue and guest satisfaction.
  • are flexible in working different shifts (morning, evening, weekend), which makes your job even more diverse.
  • Experience with working in Marriott International is a plus.
  • Experience with Opera, Micros and Marriott is a pre.
